What steps do I need to take to get my statutory excuse when using a digital platform like Zinc?

We are on the government trust framework as an approved IDSP, meaning that for British and Irish citizens with valid passports (including Irish passport cards), we can digitally check your candidate's right-to-work, eliminating the need to see them in person. Using Zinc in this scenario is a valid method of obtaining a statutory excuse.

Presently, the Home Office does not allow for British and Irish citizens without a passport to be verified using an IDSP. As such, Zinc can provide a right to work “in principle” but you will still need to physically double-check on their first day of employment that the candidate’s passport matches the photo and DOB in our report. For further information please consult the Home Office guidance on manual checks

For non-UK nationals entering via the share code route the Home Office will not allow a statutory excuse to be provided by an IDSP so you will need to consult the Home Office website and check that the share code matches the one printed on our report.
