What documents can be accepted for right to work in Malta?

To perform a right to work check in Malta, the following documents can be accepted: 

Natural Maltese citizens
Maltese passport
EEA and Swiss passports
National ID card

Foreign citizens 
EEA and Swiss citizens: Identity cards

Non- EEA citizens:
Work permit
Residence permit
