What documents can be accepted for right to work in Italy?

To perform a right to work check in Italy, the following documents can be accepted: 

Natural Italian citizens
Italian passport
EEA and Swiss passports
Certificate of Italian citizenship
Certified judgment of a competent judicial body recognising Italian citizenship

Foreign citizens 
EEA and Swiss citizens: National Identity card

All non-EEA and Swiss citizens:
EU residence permit for long-term residence
EU Blue Card issued at least 18 months ago
Type D Visa
Asylum resident permit
Refugee resident permit
