What documents can be accepted for right to work in Iceland?

To perform a right to work check in Iceland, the following documents can be accepted: 

Natural Icelandic citizens
Icelandic passport
EEA and Swiss passports
National Identity card 

Foreign citizens 
EEA and Swiss citizens: ID Cards

Non-EEA and Swiss citizens:
Work permit
Residence permit
