To perform a right to work check in Germany, the following documents can be accepted: 

Natural German citizens
German passport
EEA and Swiss passports
National Identity card
Certificate of Citizenship

Foreign citizens 
EEA and Swiss citizens:  National Identity card

All non-EEA and Swiss citizens:
Electronic Residence Permit (eAT) card
Aufenthaltserlaubnis - Limited residence permit
Niederlassungserlaubnis - Permanent residence permit
EU blue card - issued at least 18 months ago
EU permanent residence permit
Settlement permit
Family reunification permit
Asylum residence permit
Refuge 1951 Convention documents
