What are the changes to Right to work checks on October 1st 2022?
From October 1st 2022 the temporary Covid measures for right to work checks will be lifted. This means you can no longer check applicants and documents solely over video call.
As of April 1st 2022 you have been able to use an IDSP, this is a technology partner who can check applicants documents who are choosing to go via the British/Irish passport route. You can continue to use these partners to check remotely. You can continue to check applicants documents remotely who are using the share code scheme too.
But you must meet applicants with their original documents who are taking any other route to proving their right to work.
