Turkey Criminal Record Check


Who is the source of criminal check data in Turkey? 

Turkish Republic Ministry of Justice General Directory of Criminal Records Central Office.

What is the process in Turkey?

The requesting party will request the check from the ATS or their Zinc account.

  • Automated instructions are delivered to the candidate to upload a copy of their ID and some personal details in a dynamic web form
  • Zinc submits the request to the authorities
  • Zinc receives the results (digitally) and provides a signed digital report
  • The candidate receives a text to say the process is complete.


What details are required to submit the check?

  • First Name
  • Last Name 
  • Birth Date 
  • Passport/ID Copy

For citizens: Copy of valid Turkish ID Card, all pages, including the pages where
parents' names are visible OR valid Turkish Driving License OR valid Turkish Passport.
Expired IDs are also accepted.

For non-citizens: Turkish Residence permit OR Turkish

Work permit indicating the Turkish ID number which is beginning with 9 and has 11
digits. Expired documents are acceptable for foreigners.

What's the service covered on the check?

The criminal history record check contains information for all of the following criminal convictions of offenses, except those deleted by rehabilitation laws or considered spent:

  • offenses against the person (e.g., kişilere karşı suçlar, e.g. offenses against life offenses
  • offenses against the person (e.g., kişilere karşı suçlar, e.g. offenses against life offenses
    against physical integrity, experimentation on human beings, torture, illegal abortion,
    miscarriage, and sterilization, etc.)
  • offenses against sexual integrity sexual offenses (e.g., cinse dokunulmazlığa karşı suçlar)
  • fraud and forgery (e.g., dolandırılıcık ve sahtecilik)
  • criminal damage (e.g., mücrim zarar)
  • drug offenses (e.g., uyuşturucu suçları)
  • motoring offenses (e.g., trafik güvenliğini tehlikeye sokma)
  • International offenses (e.g., genocide and offenses against humanity, human trafficking, etc.)
  • offenses against liberty (e.g., blackmail, threat, etc.)
  • offenses against dignity (e.g., insult, immunity of accusation and defence, etc.)
  • offenses against privacy and confidentiality (e.g., violation of confidentiality of communication, violation of privacy, etc.)
  • offenses against property (e.g., burglary (haneye tecavüz)
  • robbery (soygun)
  • theft and handling of stolen goods (e.g., gasp)
  • offenses against the public
  • offenses against the environment
  • offenses against public health
  • offenses against public confidence
  • offenses against public peace
  • offenses against transport vehicles or stationary platforms
  • offenses against public morals
  • offenses against the family order
  • offenses against the economy, industry, and trade
  • offenses related to data processing systems
  • offenses against nation and state and final provisions


The records go 5 years back. Convictions are removed from an individual’s criminal record when: the offense is no longer a crime, or after a period of 80 years has passed.
