Letter of Authority (with a wet signature) - this will be available for the candidate to download, print, fill in and upload on Zinc.
- Passport/ID Copy
The criminal certificate will be sent directly to the applicant's home address. This certificate needs to be uploaded to their Zinc account.
We will verify its authenticity and the completed results will appear on Zinc notifying both parties the check is complete.
What is covered in the criminal check?
For the purposes of pre-employment, when processing Criminal Record Certificates from the Swiss Federal Office of Justice, Zinc will obtain the Classic Excerpt from the Swiss Criminal Records .
The Classic Excerpt from the Swiss Criminal Records (Extrait du casier judiciaire suisse destiné aux particuliers) has nationwide coverage, including citizens and foreigners over 18 years of age.
The Certificate contains information for all the following criminal convictions or offenses, except those deleted by rehabilitation laws or considered spent:
- Offenses against the constitution (e.g., electoral offenses, corruption, trespass, etc.)
- Misuse of public force
- Offenses committed by public servants
- Offenses against the public interest
- Offenses against the private interest
- Offenses against the public authority, influence, and fraud, perversion of justice, refusal to assist justice ✓ Disobedience to judicial orders
- Obstruction of public service
- Offenses against state guarantees
- Usurpation
- Felonies and misdemeanors against the general interest (e.g., public safety, offenses against the public peace, public economy, public health, public decency; public worship)
- Guarantee of the national economy
- Felonies and misdemeanors against the private interest (e.g., killing, harm, intentional force, private liberty, sexual offenses, personal tranquility, confidence, property, insolvency, children, and family)
- Simple offenses
The Certificate covers both maiden and current names.

The records are kept based on the legal prescription and rehabilitation periods applicable for each type of conviction provided by the local regulations in Switzerland. All the records are maintained by The Federal Office of Justice.
