Do I need to verify the address and ID of applicants for DBS checks?
The Disclosure and Barring service (DBS), requires organisations that submit any level of check to verify the address and identity and address of applicants. Zinc does this through digital identity technology approved by the DBS and gov.uk. This requires you to have a Right to work or Identity check and Address check turned on when doing a DBS check.
Since the DBS is releasing highly sensitive information and they have millions of records. They need to ensure the identity of the person being checked and they send a hard copy of the record to the applicants home address. This is why they need to ensure these things are correct.
