How to Submit Your Credit Check in South Africa
Step 1: Log In or Create Your Zinc Account
Once your employer requests a credit check, you’ll need to log in to your Zinc account. If you don’t already have an account, you must create one. Once logged in, confirm the following details:
- Your full name (including name history if applicable)
- Your date of birth
- Your country of residence: South Africa
- Address history for the past 5 years
- Your consent
Step 2: Provide Your Personal Information
You will need to supply the following details to initiate the check:
- First Name
- Last Name
- Birth Date
- Consent
- Government ID Number
- Your South African PIN number or if not available your Passport number
- Job Description Disclaimer
- South African credit checks are not permissible for employment purposes unless the position of employment requires honesty in handling money or finance-related positions. Please answer Yes to this question if your role applies. If your role does not apply, please answer this as No and the check will be cancelled after your submission on Zinc as it cannot be processed.
Step 3: Submit the Check on Zinc
Once all your information is provided, the check will be processed by our checking partner.
If something else is required or there is a discrepancy, our Customer Support team here at Zinc will contact you directly to get your application corrected or gather further information from you.
Step 4: Receive the Results of your Check
Upon completion of your credit check, you will receive a notification to say the process is completed and the results will be available on your profile to view.
